Clearance and restoration work

The original open entrance to the Recreation Ground, pictured in 2006

The original entrance to the Recreation Ground, before Pulborough Parish Council decided it was their duty under
the Inclosure Act of 1855 to add modern fences and gates.

(The Public Records Office has no record of an Inclosure Act from that year, with the legislation passed in 1840 and 1857.)
